Our History
Mark Dunne started Loreto Group in 2004. The plan wasn’t complicated: turn up, do the work properly, and look after the people who hired you. Twenty years on, that’s still how we run things.
We began as a small cleaning operation and have grown into a facilities services provider working with clients across Ireland. Today we look after more than 130 sites across Leinster and a good portion of our work still comes through referrals and clients who’ve been with us for over a decade.
These days the work covers offices, schools, healthcare sites, retail units, warehouses and public buildings, along with a number of property management companies and residential clients. The range has broadened over the years. The standard hasn’t.

Our Leadership Team
Mark Dunne
Managing Director
Mark Dunne founded Loreto Group in 2004, at the age of 28, though he came to it the long way round. He studied hotel management, then went out on his own at 24 with a small meat trading business. He’s also owned a restaurant on Bolton Street and a café in Rathfarnham over the years.
Since 2016, his focus has been entirely on Loreto: growing it from a small cleaning operation into a facilities services company with a team of more than 50, and opening its repairs and maintenance division in 2023.
The approach hasn’t changed across any of it: build something properly, and look after the people who rely on you.
Jennifer Slaughter
Director of Operations
Jen Slaughter is Loreto Group’s Director of Operations. She came from a background in medical devices, where she worked as a team leader and sales manager at B. Braun Medical, before taking time out to raise her two children.
Jen rejoined the workforce with Loreto in a part-time supervisor role, and she didn’t stay in it long. She moved up to team leader, then staff manager, and now leads the company’s operations as a director.
It’s a rise that says everything about how she works: she proved herself at every step, and the responsibility followed.
Alejandro Pascual
Maintenance Division Manager
Alejandro Pascual heads up Loreto Group’s Maintenance and Repairs Division. A Spanish native, he’s about as multi-skilled as a technician gets and his route here was anything but ordinary. He served as a police officer in Spain, worked across a range of repair and trades roles, and spent time as a commercial diver repairing large cargo ships at port: difficult, dangerous, highly skilled work that leaves no room for cutting corners.
When he moved to Ireland he joined Loreto and quickly proved there was very little he couldn’t fix. Between his organisation, his attention to detail and the way he looks after clients, he was the obvious choice to lead the division when it opened.
Julie Slaughter
Manual Handling Instructor
Julie Slaughter is Loreto Group’s Health and Safety Officer. She spent years working in childcare, where a strong interest in health and safety took hold, and where she completed a range of childcare qualifications along the way.
That interest became her focus when she joined Loreto, training as a qualified Manual Handling Instructor and taking on responsibility for health and safety across the company.
For a business where safety underpins every site we work on, having someone who genuinely cares about getting it right makes all the difference.
Caroline Carvalho
Digital Marketing Manager
Caroline Carvalho is Loreto Group’s Digital Marketing Manager. Originally from Brazil, she built a career in HR management before moving to Ireland to study English and then kept going, enrolling at university to study International Sales Management and earning a Level 7 degree along the way. Doing that through a second language takes real determination, and it’s the same drive she brings to Loreto’s marketing.
She now leads our digital presence, and the difference shows.
